Leader Aims To Thrive, Leading EV And Hydrogen Vehicles
GVT Sdn. Bhd. commenced operations in 2017, specializing in the installation and marketing of commercial vehicles such as buses and vans powered by both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and electric power. We represent three vehicle brands: Go Auto, Yutong, and Higer. Yutong stands as China’s largest manufacturer, while Higer ranks fourth in China for bus and van production. Renowned for their expertise in electric vehicle technology, these brands have enabled us to build a strong clientele, including government agencies, APAD, corporate entities like TNB, Petronas, AVIS, DHL, and several others. However, our market extends beyond governmental and corporate clients, welcoming all interested parties. To date, GVT Sdn. Bhd. has sold over 700 van units, more than 100 bus units, and specialty vehicles.
“I ventured into business in 2011 after working in various vehicle manufacturing companies since 1992. Observing the vast business opportunities in the automotive industry, where over 500,000 vehicles are sold annually in Malaysia, I decided to delve into this field. With an initial investment of RM100,000.00, I founded this business with like-minded partners,” shared Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, Executive Director of GVT Sdn. Bhd.
Inspired by successful Bumiputera vehicle entrepreneurs such as Tan Sri Nasimudin, Tan Sri Yahya, and Tan Sri Azman, Wan Ahmad aims to continue their legacy, capitalizing on the transition in vehicle technology towards electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
The challenges faced in this business include market dominance. Key factors in market mastery include effective marketing, product quality, efficient after-sales support, and financial stability. To master these factors, it relies on building the right, efficient, cooperative team and expertise in each respective field.
“I’m deeply grateful for the recognition, which serves as a benchmark for measuring my progress. This award motivates me to continue striving for long-term success. My long-term aspiration is to elevate GVT Sdn. Bhd. to the ranks of Malaysia’s leading companies, contributing to job creation and national development,” expressed Wan Ahmad, for receiving the IDEA Award 2023.
“Entrepreneurs need to understand that business is no trivial matter. It’s a source of livelihood where individuals provide value to solve problems through offered products and services. Hence, delivering excellent service to customers is crucial. We must strive to become experts in every product and service offered. Despite challenges, pride in our business should serve as a driving force for progress and customer solutions.”
GVT Sdn. Bhd.’s vision is to establish a competitive business focused on customer satisfaction. Additionally, the company aims to facilitate the global adoption of electric vehicles by providing the expertise and infrastructure necessary for the industry’s advancement.
