Richiamo Coffee Announces to Expand Globally in 2024

The Malaysian local-owned premium coffee chain, Richiamo Coffee, is planning to expand its businesses into several countries in 2024. The countries included in the plans are Singapore, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, India and Algeria, said the managing director, Muhamad Zamry Abu Samah.

“We will open outlets in neighboring countries such as Singapore and Indonesia early next year before expanding to other countries. Our plan for Indonesia is to open in Batam,” he told Bernama today after the opening of the Richiamo Coffee outlet in Hotel G, which was officiated by Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

The business that was established in 2015 with its success in bringing Richiamo Coffee to Siem Reap, Cambodia, recently won “Brand of the Year” at the World Muslimpreneur Awards Malaysia 2022 early this year, which will serve as the foundation for the company’s overseas expansion. Currently, it has 175 outlets in Malaysia; the latest one is in Hotel G. Their target is to have 222 outlets in Malaysia by next year.

“Why 222 outlets? Because our initial plan is to open at least one outlet in each parliamentary constituency, and I hope by next year we can achieve this target,” he explained. The managing director said the company planned to add 10 more outlets this year, and the target for 2024 is a total of 222 Richiamo Coffee outlets nationwide.

Before expanding further, Richiamo Coffee will first expand in neighboring countries.

He said that Richiamo Coffee’s strength is providing local dishes, which include the Malaysian favorites, which are Nasi Lemak, Lemang, Ayam/Itik Salai, Asam Pedas, and Kari Ayam, despite serving cakes and pastries and Western cuisines such as pasta. The business will also additionally introduce its newest concept in the form of a modern convenience store chain. It will be known as Richiamo Mart, a similar concept to existing convenience store chains that exist overseas and here in Malaysia, such as 7-Eleven, eMart24, CU Mart and FamilyMart.

“The first Richiamo Mart will open soon in Kuala Lumpur and then we plan to expand to new residential areas, especially condominiums,” he added.—BERNAMA
