Key Points
- Cheaper prices for developers and companies using GPT-4 Turbo
- Users can access DALL·E browsing and data analysis in one place
- Many custom versions of ChatGPT could be created
OpenAI just announced their new models and developer products at DevDay, their first developer conference, on Monday. It is also cutting prices for the companies and developers that are using the software. They are three times cheaper per token per input and two times cheaper for output compared to GPT-4. The prices for the GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-3.5 Turbo 4K model input tokens are also reduced.
The good news with the GPT-4 turbo is that the latest data will be up until April 2023. “We are just as annoyed as all of you, probably more, that GPT’s knowledge about the world ended in 2021,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a speech Monday. Not only that, users can now go to DALL·E, browsing and data analysis without opening other tabs. That is because they are all in the ChatGPT. Files such as PDFs and others could also be uploaded there.
They are also letting users create many versions of GPT, called GPTs. It will be available to enterprises starting on Wednesday. The GPTs serve many purposes for users. For example, they could create versions that could help them with writing by giving feedback to users to improve their skills. This will boost users’ productivity and efficiency.
OpenAI said GPTs are discussed as “agents” in the field of AI. Good news to users: OpenAI will always control your data from being shared with GPTs builders when chatting. However, there will be an option for the builders: either to allow GPT to improve the AI models with the knowledge they provide and user chats with the GPTs or not. Worry not; this is based on the users’ privacy controls. Users could disable chat history and model training at any time by navigating to the ‘Data Controls’.

To add more, OpenAI will be launching the GPT store this November, which will consist of creations by verified builders building helpful tools. Inside the store will consist of categories such as productivity, education and “just for fun”. There will also be leaderboards for builders to climb once the GPTs are in the store. The builders will be able to gain money based on the number of users using their GPT versions. The feature will be available in the coming months.

In the upcoming time, they will be releasing an open-source automatic speech recognition model (ASR) called Whisper large-v3 and also open-sourcing the Consistency Decoder, replacing the Stable DIffusion VAE Decoder.
